The Alliance Française d’Atlanta, a member-supported cultural and educational nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1912, is searching for a new Executive Director. The new leader will succeed Richard Keatley, who will be retiring.
The Mission of the Alliance Française d’Atlanta is to teach French language and promote the knowledge of Francophone cultures.
The Alliance Française d’Atlanta is a part of the Fédération des Alliances Françaises, the largest cultural network in the world with more than 1,135 chapters in 138 countries, including 130 chapters in the United States. Another special feature of the role is the unique partnership between the Alliance Française d’Atlanta and the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta called Kultur Ensemble. The Alliance Française d’Atlanta is the only Franco-German Cultural Center in North America and one of only nine in the world.
A key responsibility for the Executive Director is to oversee and administer the French language school located in Downtown Atlanta and Roswell, including employment and monitoring of its instructors. The Executive Director promotes cultural, educational and social programming as well as fosters friendly relations between Francophone individuals and groups in the local community. The Executive Director works closely with the board to protect the financial integrity of the organization, including fundraising responsibilities.
Among the qualifications listed in the description, candidates must be fluent in both French and English and have at least five years’ experience in management, ideally in nonprofits.
