French & Francophone Culture High School/Middle School Contest 2018 Winners

We are pleased to announce the winners of our 2018 French & Francophone Culture High School Essay Contest and Middle School Visual Art Contest:

Ye Lim Cecilia Woo – Johns Creek High School
Katharine Malinda Campbell – Lassiter High School
Valeria Lopez – McClure Middle School
SriDhanya Muppalla – Dodgen Middle School

This year’s contest question gave high school students an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on the importance of French and Francophone culture in their global lives. It gave middle school students the opportunity to create visual art pieces reflecting their views about the role of French culture in today’s global society.   The contest is in English and open to all students. It is not limited to students who take French as a foreign language.  It is intended to reach out to all students, especially students in art, music, world history, fashion, literature, environmental science, hospitality and other classes who learn about French and Francophone culture.
The 2018-2019 school year was a pilot year for the contest offered in high schools and middle schools in North Fulton and Cobb counties. The contest will be offered Atlanta metro wide next school year so stay tuned for next year’s theme!

Congratulations to all students who participated!
