Spotlight on Transitioning Staff: Meet Marylou, Ashley, and Mary Evelyne!

Our Alliance staff is the best – so we’re sad to announce that three of our staff members, MaryLou, Ashley, and Mary Evelyne, are transitioning elsewhere.

MaryLou, our educational manager, has served an important role on our team, ensuring that our students and teachers have all the tools they need to thrive in the classroom. Her public education background has allowed her to create an engaging classroom environment as a teacher with the Alliance. MaryLou is now moving to North Carolina, where she will be taking care of her family farm and teaching ESOL part time at a community college! But don’t worry – she’ll still be teaching French courses with us remotely!

Ashley, our administrative assistant and membership services coordinator, is moving to Charlotte, North Carolina to dance with the Charlotte Ballet! She has tremendously helped the Alliance with our membership services, and she was the first smiling face all of our visitors saw at the front desk all year. Ashley is an incredibly talented dancer, with decades of ballet training right here in her hometown of Atlanta. In her free time, she loves going to the movies, learning about other cultures, and spending time outside.

Mary Evelyne, our summer intern, is going back to New Orleans for her second year at Tulane University studying French & Linguistics. Although she’s just had 2 months with us, she’s enjoyed working with the Alliance team and getting hands-on experience with French education and cultural events. This semester, she’ll be taking courses such as Haitian Creole, French Translation Theory, and Second Language Acquisition, as well as engaging with the Louisiana Francophone community! Outside of work and studies, she enjoys crocheting, painting, and traveling!
