“Portraits de Femmes Inspirantes Francophones” reveals the lives of women who have more in common than the language they speak, but share a tenacious and resilient spirit, and had the courage and strength to champion their causes, each in her own context, to subvert oppressive power-structures, work toward justice, and act in the interest of the common good.

These women are leaders, mothers, artists, and activists… Famous or not, they are each positive role models from whom we all can learn. Together, we will listen to the stories, talents, and struggles of these feminine icons who have inspired and continue to inspire generations. In this B1-class, there will be lots of opportunities for discussion and improvement of French language skills, as we discuss these female figures’ actions and work.

Meet the teacher
Constance Biahio, was born in Côte D’Ivoire, a French-speaking country in West Africa. After a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from the University of Abidjan Cocody, she left to continue her studies in Paris. She obtained a Graduate Certificate in Communication and Public Relations at the Free Faculty of Communication Sciences in Levallois-Perret. The following year, she obtained a master’s degree in Language Science at the University of Paris-Sorbonne, Paris IV. After two accomplished professional years working in large French companies in Paris, she returned to Cote d’Ivoire where she held for ten years the position of Head of the Department of Communication and Web Marketing at the Poste de Cote D’Ivoire. A staunch Francophile, Ms. Biahio is married and the mother of three children. She will bring her energy and warm kindness in her classes at Alliance Française-Roswell
