Desir de Lire:
Désir de Lire has been in existence for over 20 years. We meet 10 times a year, September through June at various members homes to discuss the book chosen for that month. The books, in French, are selected by the members from a list put together by a committee of members and purchased with the help of the Alliance Française. Each month there is a hôte / hôtesse as well as an animateur / animatrice who leads the discussion in French. We meet the second Saturday of the month at 2:00 PM., and always welcome new members. There is a calendar for the year with places to sign up to host the meeting and lead the discussion. There is a monthly newsletter that includes driving directions. At the December meeting, members are encouraged to bring books in French for a book exchange, giving extra books a ‘new life.’ Any books not selected for exchange are donated to the Alliance Française. Dues for the year are $10, which go toward printing supplies for the newsletter and extra fees for the book order such as changes in the exchange rate.
The president for the coming year will be Monique Dammers (email@example.com, 770-778-2021)
Chris Allan, (firstname.lastname@example.org 770-955-5645) will continue to be in charge of the book committee.
