About the teacher

Catherine Masseron is a French native raised throughout various parts of French-speaking African countries and parts of Europe; studied French Literature in Senegal. Before coming to the US, she worked for Cartier, BMW, and was one of the first females to race cars in Africa. She has been teaching at the Alliance Française for 23 years. In her spare time she enjoys reading, taking Italian lessons, watching TV5Monde, and educating herself more in various facets of the French language to learn new ways of teaching. She also enjoys branching out from teaching and working on translations and voice over work. Her students usually classify her as a fun and quirky teacher. She thoroughly enjoys teaching because not only do her students learn something from her, but she also learns a lot from her students.
